Effect of Austempering on Mechanical Properties of Nb/V Microalloyed Bainitic Bearing Steel

In this study, a multi-element microalloyed GCr15Si1MoNbV bainitic bearing steel was designed by adding trace amounts of Nb and V. The bainite/martensite/retained austenite/undissolved carbide multiphase with short heat-treated cycle remarkable comprehensive mechanical properties prepared via low-temperature austempering, which compared traditional quenched tempered martensitic microstructure. results showed that the microstructure Nb/V were better than those addition, as isothermal temperature increased, impact toughness experimental significantly improved, hardness decreased slightly. tensile strength improved increase in time. As bainite content rose, stability retained austenite enhanced due to more carbon atoms being partitioned into it. research work paper made preliminary exploration for application field provided some basic data reference.
